In Year 3, we will have a spelling test each Friday. Here the first four weeks concentrate on the spelling patterns for some long vowel sounds. Look out for the letters in the word that don’t fit the pattern, or are silent. The last two weeks focus on common words with different spellings and meanings. This is a really tricky feature of the English language, and one we will keep on revisiting through the year. Games here https://www.learninggamesforkids.com/vocabulary-games/homophones-games.html might help. We put the spelling lists on our class page on the school website and on Class Dojo in case you mislay your list.
